MSU wins third place in the Environmental Challenge International
CARRS PhD student, Felix Yeboah, was part of a student team from Michigan State University that won third place in the Environmental Challenge International at the annual conference of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) in Detroit. They proposed a waste reduction and recovery program to address the waste disposal and energy needs of a hypothetical city in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Posted on:

Two CARRS PhD Students Compete in IDEA CHALLENGE 2009
Two CARRS PhD students, Eunseong Jeong and Jinwon Kim, were part of an MSU team that won 4th place out of 5,888 teams from 11 countries in the IDEA CHALLENGE 2009 on September 25. The competition was hosted by the Chungbuk Provincial Government in South Korea, and was promoted as the world's first “Idea Olympics” to celebrate the passion and participation of university students. The MSU team’s project proposed bike tourism as a tool of place-based marketing by developing the concept of "Young Ambassadors".
CARRS is pleased to welcome four new faculty members to the department.
Dr. Laura Schmitt-Olabisi joined the department in January 2009 as an assistant professor in Global Markets and the Environment.
Dr. Matt Raven joined the department in August 2009 as a professor in Agriculture and Natural Resources Education.
Dr. Chi-Ok Oh joined the department in August 2009 as an assistant professor in Tourism.
Dr. Dan McCole joined the department in August 2009 as an assistant professor in Commercial Recreation.
